Not sure if I mentioned this to you before, but I registered for five 5K Races/Walks from April to the end of May. I completed my first just last week in D.C. and boy did I feel great.
One of the big reasons why I am doing this is because I am very passionate about giving back to those who are less fortunate. It really makes me feel good and BTW, my mother started this movement! She was always thinking of others!
So, I am reaching out to you because I need sponsors. My birthday is next week (April 12th) and in lieu of gifts, I would really appreciate donations to the Rye YMCA Scholarship Fund. That would make me very happy. Its not about me, its about others who need a little support. Im sure we have all been there at one time or another.
Today we has a water exercise challenge and we raised $2,000 from the challenge/raffle event. I feel that I really need to do more so please help me to help others who would like to participate in programs at the Rye YMCA, but are unable to afford the membership fees.
Last year we raised $455,000 and guess what? No one was turned away from the Y. We were able to assist over 300 families in need. Now you see where Im coming from?
