Rye Derby 2017

Thank you so much for fundraising for the Rye Y!

The money raised for the Derby supports the Y Cares Financial Aid Program which enable us to keep a powerful promise to the communities we serve: no-one will be turned away from a Y program or activity because he or she can’t pay. In 2016 alone, the Rye Y awarded over $455,000 in financial assistance to 354 individuals and families in need. Thanks to our Y Cares Program, children can thrive at summer camp. Working parents can afford safe, nurturing child care. And seniors maintain their health through subsidized memberships.

Proceeds from the Derby also support the Rye Y’s community initiatives, which include pedestrian safety, senior health and fitness, chronic disease prevention and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, to name a few.

$50 provides a safe and fun afterschool haven for 10 teens.

$100 provides community and connection to a senior couple with a 1-month membership.

$175 gives a child a session of confidence building and life-saving swim lessons.

$300 allows a child to learn new skills and make friends at a week of summer camp.

$500 provides 1 month of after school care in a nurturing and enriching environment.

$1,000 provides health and wellbeing to a single parent family with a year of membership.
