Did You Know?

The Rye Y is a nonprofit, charitable organization. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, in 2017 we were able to provide:

• Nearly $418,000 in financial assistance to families and individuals who needed a helping hand.

Safety Around Water workshops to 1,200 students at three elementary schools, free of charge, as part of our drowning prevention program.

Free pool time, lifeguards and meeting space every week for the Rye Association for the Handicapped so those with disabilities can get vital exercise.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA free of charge, so cancer survivors can reclaim their total health in this 12-week small group program.

Your gift has the power to change lives, lift up those in need, and give hope where hope is needed most.

A note from one of your neighbors:

“I would like to thank all the donors who donate to the Y Cares program. Being a single parent, working paycheck to paycheck while raising 4 young children can be a burden. With your help, I am able to send my children to the Rye Y camp. My children love it here and I know that they are being taken care of.

I would not be able to work if I was not able to send my children to camp. Thank you for all your help and support. We appreciate it so much.”

EVERY DONATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE

$50 provides 2 months of a Youth Membership where a youth can learn new skills in a safe nurturing environment.

Why I Give

I’ve become more intentional about financially supporting the Rye YMCA’s work in the community. I know how important it is. The thing that really made me want to give more was seeing the program guide and all the activities the Rye Y is doing for the community, particularly for children. In the last two years we’ve made supporting the Rye Y a priority.

When you really care about something you don’t mind. Summer camp and the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program are so important. The scripture says “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Where your heart is, you put your money and your time. My heart is here.
