Why I Give
My husband and I have been members of the Y for 28 years. When we first moved to Rye from Manhattan, and saw the facade of the little house that was the Rye Y, we just laughed and said "What have we done?"
Obviously in the last 28 years things have changed. The Y has expanded and has incredible facilities, but the fact that it looked like a home has taken on more meaning for me in the years that I've been associated with the Y, as a member, a donor and now as an instructor.
Because the wonderful thing about the Y is that it is so much more than just a gym or a place to workout. It really is more like a home...where people can find friendship, have their spirits lifted, and know they can be supported in so many ways.
