The Power of ONE

Your gift has the power to change lives, lift up those in need, and give hope where hope is needed most.

Did You Know?

The Rye Y is a nonprofit, charitable organization. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, in 2018 we were able to provide:

• Over $420,000 in financial assistance to families and individuals who needed a helping hand. Of this amount, over $230,000 went to families so that their child(ren) could attend camp and have a safe and engaging summer.

Safety Around Water workshops to 580 students at local elementary schools, free of charge, as part of our drowning prevention program.

Free pool time, lifeguards and meeting space every week for the Rye Association for the Handicapped so those with disabilities can get vital exercise.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA free of charge, so 95 cancer survivors can reclaim their total health in this 12-week small group program.

Yendy's Story

Dear Members and Donors of the Rye YMCA,

My name is Yendy.  I was adopted by my mom Janett from Jamaica. I came to the United States in December of 2017. My mom told me about (the) YMCA because my cousin Heather has been attending for the past five years. It was my first time attending a summer camp.  I have to say it was quite an experience. When I first started, I was scared, but my counselors were there to help me understand.  The Rye Y also helped me with socializing and making new friends. I want to say thank you to all the counselors that helped me to accomplish my skills. The YMCA has great swimming lessons. I still can't believe I'm swimming.  Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to all the donors who made it possible for me to have a great summer."
